In October 2010 our direct CO2
emissions were estimated at
2.6 - 2.8 tonnes pa.
This excludes the impact of our
"supply chain" ie the emissions generated by suppliers in providing us with
the materials and services we consume and we will be identifying these over
coming months.
We estimate that the above
emissions are 50% of what they were when the business started in 2005 but
there are still areas in which improvements can be made. Our prime energy
consumption is in Office IT equipment, and we are implementing better usage
of this and investigating "Cloud" based technology in which we will run
software as a service on the internet without the need for office based
servers. |
